How many times have you gone on vacation and wanted to bring home something a little more genuine, something more attached to the destination you visited other than a lousy t-shirt? Finding locally made items can be somewhat of an enigma depending on where you go. And finding local wares in Pensacola can be just as trying as the next town. Unlike many downtown areas, Pensacola’s array of local shops is relatively fanned out. Not that this is necessarily a problem; it’s nice for properly seeing the spread of town. But if you don’t know what is out there, you may be missing out.
One of Pensacola’s beloved local shops is Angel’s Garden. A staple of our area for 17 years, Angel’s Garden is a rare gem showcasing a range of unique merchandise. It would be criminal to classify the store under any particular category. However, here you’ll find a plethora of locally made products by artisans of the Pensacola area. From garden accessories and housing decor to bath accessories, handbags to inspiring poetry, the diverse creative collection posits the store’s whimsical quality. This shop is where you will find a true piece of Pensacola.
One of my favorite aspects of Angel’s Garden is the inviting atmosphere. Owner and operator Deborah Tracy has created a warm space as pleasant as her personality. The store is a fantastic place to raise your spirits and enjoy some fresh lemonade. The challenge for any patron is pay a visit and not feel enchanted by all the great things the shelves and tabletops. But why would you want to see that challenge?! There is certainly something for everyone here; you can build piece by piece some eclectic assortment of items that anyone is certain to enjoy on any occasion. And for your visit, you give yourself peace of heart. Go to the store and enjoy the type of ambience that corporate stores dream of and choke spending millions of dollars trying to manifest.
We are not finished! Angel’s Garden also holds a local arts show! This show features, again, local artists and craftsman. In its 15th year, the art show will be held September 11th – 12th, 10 a.m – 5:30 p.m. The location of the art show is the park at the corner of 12th and Gonzales St (across from the old Sacred Heart building). This years show benefits Favorhouse.
