Bluegrass Pizza & Pub on Danville’s Main Street is one of those tiny hole-in-the-wall type places that you could be forgiven for passing without noticing it’s there. But mark my words, once you go in and try their pizza, you’ll be clued in on one of Main Street’s best little eateries.
Just over one year old, Bluegrass Pizza and Pub makes the town’s only brick-oven pizza. The dough is made fresh each day, and local ingredients are used where possible. The result is delicious. The day I stopped by, I tried the Mediterranean, piled high with chicken, artichokes, green olives and feta. The base was just right—not too thin, not too doughy. This was a pizza to enjoy! Even the breadsticks (something I usually skip) are worth trying.
Bluegrass Pizza and Pub is located at 235 W Main Street in Danville. Space is limited so be prepared to make friends, or call ahead for a pick-up (859-236-7737).
Hours are Monday 5pm-9pm; Tuesday 11am-9pm; Wednesday through Saturday 11am-10pm. Closed on Sundays.
