We pull our car into what looks like the start of a carwash, but turns out to be an open store lined with frosted fridges of six packs, cases, and even kegs. A young attendant walks over and asks what he can get me. I point to a pack of Weeping Radish’s Doppelbock Christmas Bier, a local microbrew, and he places it gingerly in my trunk. I pay him, and drive away. Not once did I have to leave my car.

Brew-Thru, a drive-thru convenience store dating back to 1977, has become a staple of the Outer Banks experience, and the company now boasts close to ten different locations. They offer cases, six-packs, wine, kegs, cigarettes, and typical beer pairings such as pretzels and candy. Not old enough to drink? Kids love the place for the novel experience it provides as well as their colorful, fun appare,l and collectibles.
