Dave and Susan Ward offer no apologies for their self-proclaimed coffee mania. The Tampa couple are unabashed fans of aromatic, flavorful coffee beans and are nice enough not to keep their coffee roasting tips and techniques all to themselves.

What began as the couple's personal quest for the perfect cup of coffee grew to become a gift that was shared among family and friends. Fortunately for the rest of us, they now serve coffee Monday through Saturday from a street front shop on the outskirts of downtown Tampa at Buddy Brew, a coffee roasting and retail business that is named for their beloved dog.

There’s no simpler way to sample some of the world’s finest coffees because there’s really no choice but to order coffee expertly roasted and made to order. There are no other beverages available, other than water, and no food to complicate the ordering process.

There is a selection of espressos, cappuccinos and lattes and more with some served hot and others offered iced. Customers can opt to sit and sip or grab and go but the coffee is best enjoyed while talking to the helpful staff who are happy to spill the beans, so to speak, and talk about coffee.

What makes this coffee so distinctive and flavorful begins with the green coffee beans that are carefully selected from worldwide sources. The roast, the Wards boast, uses only the highest grade Arabica beans available, ensuring only coffee produced in ideal conditions boasting minimal imperfections makes the cut for these mugs and cups.

For those who need their coffee fix at home, in the office or anywhere they are it’s easy to buy bags of beans at the store or, if you need more, just go online.
