Derby City Film Festival, Louisville, KY

Louisville's largest independent film festival, February 17-19 at Clifton Center

by Elizabeth Holladay | January 23, 2012

We all know that Kentucky loves bourbon and horse racing. But did you know that Kentuckians love film making too? Now in its fourth year, the Derby City Film Festival is Louisville’s largest independent film festival. DCFF strives to feature the very best of truly independent films and this year they are excited to have their best line-up yet.

With more film entries than ever before, DCFF will showcase 56 films, including 24 international entries, and several with ties to our beloved Bluegrass State. The Selected Films include feature, short, and documentary films. Many of these films are making their World and U.S. premieres. The festival committee has already chosen award finalists and will announce the winners during the festival weekend.

The Derby City Film Festival is taking place on February 17-19 at Clifton Center. The center has a large theater with plush seating for 500, as well as an intimate theater with seating for 75, and a separate room for workshops and panels. There is also a comfortable lounge area where people can gather to discuss films and purchase concessions.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office during the festival. However, you will be guaranteed a seat if you purchase online.

NOTE: You must bring in two copies of the online receipt to the box office.

The Clifton Center is located at 2117 Payne Street, Louisville, KY 40206

Visit the DCFF website for more details including directions, showtimes, and schedule of events.

We are looking forward to returning to Louisville for this festival. Many thanks to Kristopher and his team for their dedication to finding great independent films. Can’t wait to share Mother’s Red Dress with my hometown.
