The Hair of the Dog Pub

The place to be for celebrating the Irish holiday is without a doubt Hair of the Dog Pub. This is the happening place to be for the drinks and for the good times. This is the 5th year of the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party. It is located on Market St. just south of the Tennessee Aquarium.
This has been the home of good times since 2004 and definitely is here to stay. The owners of the pub built a unique environment to host a great evening. This two-story building hosts excellent drinks and food. The menu consists of original descriptions of sandwiches and dinner plates. One of my favorite sandwiches is the Salmon I Am, a nice fat piece of salmon on rye bread, with a large lettuce leaf and tomato. The burgers are also very juicy and full of flavor; my boyfriend gives those thumbs up. Their fries are awesome, as they consist of the spicier side potato life.
The building itself is an experience. The bar sends drinks to the upstairs via a dumbwaiter, right in the middle of the building. The bar downstairs is of a good size, while leaving room for bar stools and tables to match for customers. Booths are also located on the lower level. The upstairs is home to two pool tables with a small bar and tables all around. I will be honest, if you want to play pool, go to Chattanooga Billiard Club; there is designated space for pool playing. The Hair of the Dog is awkward to play, as the room gets smaller as more people come in and it can get crowded. This is a popular bar, especially with UTC so close and being right in the middle of downtown Chattanooga.
During the warm months the pub will open the patio and allow seating on the spacious deck. It is a great place to have lunch during the summertime and have a cool beverage and some good food. The owners of the pub have also opened a microbrewery in Chattanooga, The Terminal. It is located right beside the Chattanooga Choo-Choo.
