Louisville’s independent retailers will join Kentuckians for the Commonwealth to host a special street party and concert on Bardstown Road at Longest Avenue.
The second annual Louisville Loves Mountains Festival will be held Friday, May 21, from 4 to 10 p.m. and will feature music by Daniel Martin Moore, the Potluck Ramblers, Nora Ben and Eli, Appalatin, and other artists. Food, drinks, books, and other merchandise will be available for purchase at the event, which is hosted by the social justice group Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, Heine Brothers Coffee, and Carmichael’s Bookstore.

In addition to food and music, Affrilachian poet Makalani Bandele will read from his work. There will also be kid-friendly activities as well as information booths. The event will be held rain or shine.
