If you’re the type of person who’d prefer to eat breakfast at all three meals of the day, then you’ll love the grub served up at Wild Eggs. Not a breakfast fan? Well, one visit to this loveable local chain just might turn you into one.
Since 2007, Wild Eggs has been “crackin’ wild eggs” – and selling them like hotcakes. By 2010, the restaurant had already expanded to three Louisville locations and was voted Best Breakfast in Louisville in the WHAS11 Best of Kentuckiana Contest. In July 2011, it was voted Best Omelette in the city by Louisville Magazine.
(Insider Tip: Following so much success, Wild Eggs is slated to open its first non-Louisville location in Denver, CO in August 2011.)
A look at their menu – omelets, frittatas, scrambles, pancakes, French toast, waffles, crepes, soups, salads, sandwiches and numerous house specials – and it’s no wonder. Portions are big, and flavor is even bigger.
Some of Wild Eggs’ most popular menu items include:
And this Insider’s Favorite? The Fried Bologna & Egg sandwich. Italian mortadella, fontina cheese, grilled tomato and pesto aioli on toasted whole grain ciabatta, topped with an over easy egg. Side of skillet potatoes.
For drinks, Wild Eggs offers fresh squeezed orange juice, house blend coffee and a cocktail menu. Mimosa? Bloody Mary, anyone?
And with any meal, add one of their famous homemade Everything Muffins. Baked with roasted garlic, onion, poppy seeds, sesame seeds and kosher salt, locals are obsessed with them. Literally, obsessed
Wild Eggs has three locations in Louisville. Their hours are Monday – Friday 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday – Sunday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Expect a wait, especially on weekends. For an online menu and more information, visit their site at crackinwildeggs.com.
