Ashley Hardaway is a native of Pensacola who moved away and then, like most Floridians, came back when she discovered she didn’t care too much for winter. Having graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2006 with a BA in English, she joined The United States Peace Corps. She served for 27 months in a small village in central Ukraine. Her main assignment was TEFL teaching, but mostly she just constantly boiled water.

Upon returning home to Pensacola, in the winter of ‘08, she contemplated moving to New York but changed her mind when her sister described a -2° freeze spell as “not that bad”. Now she works as an Arts and Culture Writer for Pensacola’s Independent Weekly and manages a food blog with her boyfriend (an executive chef).
